Summer Yoga and Meditation

June 9, 2017

Summer has finally arrived, and with it comes new opportunities to bloom and shine through yoga and meditation.

Our yoga classes at Kingwood Center Gardens continue through the end of this month. I have so loved sharing yoga amid the amazements of Kingwood. We have practiced with sun, clouds, herbs, peonies, bright green grass and even peacocks! Practicing outside is truly a magical experience, and I have loved this so class so much.

I am thrilled that Kingwood will offer a second 8-week yoga session this summer, beginning July 26. Class days, times and fees will be just the same as our first session. We have ushered summer in with our first session and I look forward to ushering summer out with our second set of classes.

I also have two free introductory meditation sessions at Kingwood this summer: on Monday, June 12, at 5 PM and on Saturday, July 30, at 9 AM. If you're curious about what meditation and mindfulness are all about, please join us.

Our Monday night meditation group at the Mansfield Art Center continues through the summer (except for next Monday, June 12, when we'll meet with the Kingwood group, and also Monday, July 3, when we will take the night off.). We have a wonderful band of regular practitioners who come together in a spirit of goodwill, kindness, curiosity and humor. All are welcome to join this lovely group.

And finally, I hope you'll consider joining me on Saturday morning, June 17, at the Art Center for a combined yoga and art experience. We will practice yoga together - focusing on the themes of light and color - and then will be led by artist Irene McGinniss though a studio class using fused glass to create our own art. If you know of someone who is new to yoga but might be interested (a child, a parent, a spouse or a friend, perhaps?) this would be a great way to introduce them to the practice.

A second Art of Yoga class will be held on August 5, when we will explore the possibility of form, shape and embodiment with yoga and in the pottery studio.

You can learn more about all of my summer offerings at my website here. I hope to practice with you this summer!
