Yoga in the New Year

As we settle into the new year, I hope you'll consider joining me - virtually or in person - in the shared pursuit of health, happiness, peace and well-being.

LOCAL OFFERINGS 
If you are a local friend, I hope you'll consider taking part in my ongoing yoga and meditation offerings in Mansfield. On Monday nights this winter, our regular meditation group continues at the Mansfield Art Center. And on Wednesday mornings, yoga classes continue at the First Congregational Church.

I am thrilled that in the last eight months we've created a warm, wonderful and committed group of meditators at the Art Center, and I invite you to join us any time. Each Monday evening we gather to incline our minds toward happiness, to discuss and explore the many ways that mindfulness and meditation can enrich our lives, and to sit together in silence.

If you're curious about what happens on Monday nights, please join us at on January 8 at 6 PM at the Mansfield Art Center for a gentle Introduction to Meditation. Feel free to bring a friend!

Our Wednesday morning yoga class has been going strong for close to 20 years and I look forward to at least another 20 years together. This winter our focus will be on nourishing both the roots and wings of yoga in a way that I hope will make the practice approachable to both new and experienced practitioners. Each week we'll consider the fundamental principles of yoga (the roots) while also exploring new and varied practices that fuel us in enlivening and inspiring ways (the wings).

If you are hoping to begin a yoga practice, to return to a long-ago practice or to deepen a thriving one, I hope you'll join us. We dive in on Wednesday, January 3, at 9 AM at the First Congregational Church.

Both Monday night meditation and Wednesday morning yoga are free and open to all, with a donation basket left out for anyone who would like to support the programming. No pre-registration is required - just come when you are able!

I hope you'll also consider joining us on Saturday, January 13, at the Mansfield Art Center for a morning of yoga and art called The Art of Yoga: Color. In this session we’ll explore color in all its guises, first through a guided yoga class and then in the art studio with artist Irene Maginniss working with fused glass. Explore the many hues of life as you create a sun catcher, a bowl or an abstract design inspired by your favorite colors. No previous yoga or art experience is required. Sign up through the Art Center here.
