Winter 2020 Classes

January 2, 2020
Happy New Year, my friends! I'm so happy to share my New Year's teaching schedule with you. I'm happy to report that our current classes will keep humming along and that I'll also be adding one more weekly opportunity for us to practice together.

Our Monday evening sessions continue right on through winter and beyond. From 5:30 to 6 on Mondays we meet at the Mansfield Art Center for qigong, a gentle and fabulously enjoyable upright moving practice that is accessible to almost all. I have fallen in love with this ancient Chinese practice - I love the feeling of renewed energy, balance and calm that it offers. (You can learn more about qigong here.)  Don't be put off by its strange name - I can almost guarantee that you will love it.

Monday night mindfulness and meditation practice follows qigong from 6 to 7 at the Mansfield Art Center. (Some people come for both qigong and meditation, and some attend just one or the other.) Each week we gather to contemplate the possibility of living with greater happiness, ease and peace. We begin with discussion and end with a shared meditation practice. The sessions are designed to meet the needs of both beginners and more experienced meditators. I enjoy this lovely group so much - please join us!

Wednesday morning yoga from 9 to 10:30 at the First Congregational Church continues, of course. After decades of practice together, Wednesday morning yoga is permanently etched into many of our calendars! Our sessions are gentle and deep and rich and uplifting. Our community is strong and friendly and devoted to supporting one another through life's inevitable ups and downs. Together we move and breathe and rest in ways that help us reclaim our inner strength, vitality and joy.

And finally, beginning on January 18, I'll be hosting a Saturday morning yoga class from 9 to 10:30 at the Mansfield Art Center. I'm looking forward to adding one more opportunity to practice together to the calendar. We'll start with the basics of moving and breathing well, and then we'll move on to a range of practices that cultivate health and happiness in body, mind and spirit.

I am so thankful to our host organizations - The Mansfield Art Center and the First Congregational Church - for welcoming us so generously. They enable me to offer all of my winter classes in my favorite way: No pre-registration is necessary and no set fee is established. Come when you can and pay what you are able.

I encourage you to commit to joining us regularly - you'll feel the benefits more deeply if you do - but I want you to be able to integrate the practices into your life in a way that eases stress instead of creating it. So please, feel free to join us only occasionally, if that is what works best for you. You will always be welcome! I maintain email lists for each of my classes to share updates and cancellations (just let me know if you'd like to be added to any list), and I keep an updated schedule on my website here.

I wish you the happiest of years ahead, and I hope our paths will cross soon, both in class and beyond!
